PJ Harvey is a singer-songwriter and composer. She is known for her innovative and experimental music. Her music has been described as a mix of folk, rock, and electronic music. Harvey has released 11 studio albums and has been nominated for 11 Grammy Awards. She won the Mercury Prize in 2001 for her album Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea.

Harvey was born in Yeovil, Somerset, England. She began playing guitar and singing at a young age. She formed her first band, Automatic Dlamini, in 1988. The band released two albums before disbanding in 1992. Harvey then began a solo career and released her first album, Dry, in 1992. The album was a critical and commercial success and established Harvey as a major new talent.

Harvey has continued to release acclaimed albums throughout her career. Her most recent album, The Hope Six Demolition Project, was released in 2016. The album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.

In addition to her music career, Harvey has also written and directed several short films. Her first film, A Dog Called Money, was released in 2006. She has also directed several music videos for her own songs.
